The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Christ the King (CKC) Schools began as a humble institution,
like the mustard seed in the Gospel—small at its inception but destined to grow into a flourishing educational community.
CKC Schools started with the establishment of the Nursery and Primary School under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Romanus Ochemba, C.S.Sp. He later handed
over the administration to Rev. Fr. Leo Ekeanyanwu in 1991. Through dedication, commitment, and God's grace, the school steadily expanded and became one of the leading
Catholic educational institutions in the area.
Establishment of Christ the King College
The vision for establishing a secondary school was conceived by the then Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Malachy Eleanya, C.S.Sp. The idea arose from the need to provide quality Catholic
secondary education for the many pupils graduating annually from CKC Nursery and Primary School.
Every year, no fewer than fifty pupils graduated from the primary school, having received sound academic training, strong moral values, and authentic Catholic formation. However,
many of these pupils proceeded to public or private secondary schools where the Catholic values and discipline instilled in them were often difficult to sustain. This became a major concern
for Christ the King Catholic Parish, Awo-Omamma, and the staff of the Nursery and Primary School, whose efforts in nurturing the children appeared to lose continuity after graduation. Read More..
